Finally, my own studio...

A happy new year to all of you! I have had a long break from any painting or drawing - I've hardly held a pencil since October, partly because we've done some interior work in our flat in Oslo. This has resulted in a room that has been made in to an office for me and my wife, which means that I have somewhere to paint where I can just leave everything on the table, and then easily return to it later. I have really been looking forward to having my own place, and now it's there. During this time, I haven't even taken the time to comment on the work of my fellow bloggers, but I've looked in, and enjoyed all the new posts.

The first sketch in my new working place is of a Desert Wheatear. Me and Kjell Mjølsnes found this bird on the coast of Jæren in November 2005, a nice reward after endless hours of walking along the shorelines. The small thrushes are definately among my favourites.
