I am still working on id-illustrations, and this one is showing "black and white" drakes that can be found along the Norwegian coast. I haven't gone into great detail, since it's proably going to be published in a much smaller version. Temeratures are falling now, and any thoughts of outdoor sketching have disappeared. I was considering a trip to Hvaler, where a long staying Great Grey Owl has been showing well, but I have still not found outdoor drawing in temperatures below zero to be anything but sheer pain, so I'll wait for a while before I give it a shot.
Less painful is the fact that I'll go to Southern Spain in the end of March. Among other hotspots, I'll be visiting Gibraltar when the spring migration of several raptors are usually peaking. Needless to say, I'm quite looking forward to it...

Absolut tasteful Qivind!
SvarSlettI love in particular the way you have placed the birds on your plate and the angle you choose to depict them.. Very clever!
Paschalis
Thanks, Paschalis! It's hard to find an angle that shows all the vital features in one illustration. The lower back and tail seemed least important to show the main differences between these species.
SvarSlettVery interesting and original way to show it !!. Congratulations !!
